About ingredients, suitability or who is responsible for a product.
Every cosmetic on the UK market needs a Responsible Person here, a safety report and a notification. A small shop importing its own stock becomes that Responsible Person — usually without knowing. We work inside the rule and tell you which role is ours.
The shop answers to cosmetics law; the salon answers to patch testing and referral.
Haircare and cosmetics sold online, with the safety documentation in place.
See the programCutting, styling and colour, with colour only after a valid allergy alert test.
See the programBeauty treatments, with anything clinical referred rather than attempted.
See the programAnswering questions on ingredients, allergens and whether a product suits you.
See the programCheck the Responsible Person and the safety report before a product goes on sale, publish full ingredients, make no medical claim, patch test before colour, and refer anything clinical.

Her Hair and Beauty Ltd is a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 15368473, based at Barnfield Road in Orpington and trading since December 2023. It provides hair and beauty services and sells haircare and cosmetics through an online shop.
The retail side carries obligations that small online beauty shops routinely miss. A cosmetic placed on the UK market needs a Responsible Person established here, a Cosmetic Product Safety Report, and notification before it is sold — and a retailer who imports stock directly becomes that Responsible Person itself, whether or not it knew. We work inside that and will tell you, for any product, whether the duty sits with us or with the brand. We also make no medical claims: a cosmetic presented as treating a condition becomes a medicine requiring MHRA authorisation. On the salon side, colour follows the manufacturer's patch test requirement, and conditions of the scalp or skin are referred to a clinician rather than treated here.
Because that is who carries the legal duty for the product's safety file and notification. If a brand has already placed a product on the UK market, the duty is theirs and we sell as a retailer. If we import something ourselves, the duty becomes ours — a safety report and a notification before sale. Plenty of small shops import and sell without realising they have taken that on. Ask us about any product and we will tell you which applies.
No product we sell will, and we will not describe one as though it might. A product presented as treating or preventing a condition is a medicine in UK law and needs MHRA authorisation. Hair loss has causes worth investigating properly, so that is a conversation with a GP or dermatologist rather than a purchase.
Usually not, and we would rather say so now. The fourteen-day cancellation right for online orders carries an exception for sealed goods that are unsuitable for return on hygiene grounds once unsealed, which covers much of what a beauty shop sells. If something is faulty or not as described, that is a separate right and we will put it right.
No. Botanical extracts and essential oils are among the more frequent causes of irritation, and natural origin says nothing about how your skin will respond. Read the full ingredient list, which we publish, and ask us if you are unsure before ordering rather than after.
Only if you already have a valid patch test. The manufacturer's instructions require a test the stated interval before a colour service, and skipping it risks a reaction with no insured recourse. Come in for the consultation and test, then book the colour.
We would rather not, and we may defer the appointment. We do not diagnose or treat conditions of the scalp or skin, and applying products to inflamed skin tends to make it worse. We will refer you to a pharmacist, GP or dermatologist and pick things up afterwards.
